Dimitris Tsigos participated at the G-20Y Summit 2011

Dimitris Tsigos, CEO of the Virtual Trip Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and President of YES (European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs) participated at the G-20Y Summit 2011.

Mr. Tsigos seeks to promote and strengthen the European and Greek youth Entrepreneurship in this global financial crisis period. During his speech, Dimitris Tsigos mentioned the young entrepreneurship as a main factor through which Europe could exit the financial crisis, with emphasis on the aspects of innovative technologies and "green" growth.



The G-20Y Summit 2011 took place in Paris from 5 to 9 October 2011. The G-20Y Summits takes place every year in preparation of the G-20 Summits and aims to submit a set of recommendations to be disseminated across the world and shared with the G-20 Heads of State and leading international organizations. The G-20Y Summits are officially supported by the IMF, the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Solutions of the Global Financial Crisis
The agenda focuses on the key issues that the global society faces at the moment. Business and financial leaders from all G-20 countries will discuss potential solutions of the global financial crisis. Especially the regulation of shadow banking and the role Systematically Important Financial Institutions (SIFIs) was the center of attention.

Innovation in the Communication and Technology
As a last keypoint there were discussion groups about the emerging role of innovations in the communication and technology sector such as Social Mass Media or phenomena like WiKiLeaks.

The Delegates were given room to discuss ways how companies and organizations can develop business strategies that use the different channels of communication in a both efficient and responsible way.
